How a Tap-to-Review NFC Stand Works (No App Needed)

Most happy customers would leave a review if it took five seconds. The problem is the steps in between: finding your business on Google, scrolling to the reviews and tapping "Write a review." A tap-to-review stand removes those steps.

How it works

Inside the stand is a small NFC chip, the same technology used for tap-to-pay. The chip stores one web link: your Google review page. When a customer holds the top of their phone near the stand, the phone reads the chip and opens that page in the browser.

  • No app needed to tap. iPhone XS and newer read NFC automatically, and so do most Android phones with NFC turned on.
  • No battery or power. The phone powers the chip during the tap.
  • Nothing to set up on your side. We program the chip with your link and tap-test it before it ships.
  • Your link can change. The chip stays unlocked, so it can be reprogrammed through the plastic later.

Where to put it

  • Next to the register or card reader, where customers already have their phone out
  • On the pickup window of a food truck or coffee counter
  • On the reception desk of a salon, clinic or office

Ask the right way

A stand works best with a simple, honest ask: "If you enjoyed it, you can tap here to leave us a review." Ask every customer the same way. Don't offer discounts or gifts in exchange for reviews, and don't ask only happy customers. Google's policies prohibit incentivized and selectively solicited reviews.

Our Tap-to-Review Counter Stand

The Tap & Key Tap-to-Review Counter Stand is a black plaque with "Tap to review us," a tap icon and your business name in white letters, set in a white base. It's about 88 × 52 × 122 mm assembled, 3D printed to order in matte PLA, and programmed and tap-tested with your review link before shipping.

  • Price: $35 for one stand, or $90 for three
  • Processing: ships within 3 business days
  • Shipping (US): Fast $9.99 or Economy $6.99 (free on orders of $70+)

Not sure where your Google review link is? Leave it blank at checkout and we'll find it from your business name and city, then confirm it with you before printing. Tap & Key isn't affiliated with Google.
